Obtaining and Identifying Pig
Obtain a fetal pig, a tray to put the pig on, and a tool kit with scissors, scalpel, and blunt probe.
Identifying the Sex
Opening below the umbilical cord indicates the pig is male.
Lay pig on its side in the pan.
On the posterior end, there is a urogenital opening through which liquid wastes and reproductive cells pass.
For Males: the opening is on the ventral surface of the pig just posterior to the umbilical cord.
For Female: the opening is ventral to the anus.
Record the sex of your pig.
